LOVE ~ unity of the world ~

I have just finished watching a Taiwan Charity show. It is a charity show for the Si Chuan earthquake.

The charity show is an event organized(a very sudden one) by one of the Taiwan television station.

This event has attracted ALL the artists in taiwan to participate in the event. I really mean it. ALL! No matter which television companies you are from. ALL of them just come together and help the people of Si Chuan. It is a charity show but it is not the normal Charity show we saw on TV. The set of the whole studio is just 5-6 steps of long bar table kind of thing with 125 telephones. So ALL the artists who come down to the studio will pick up your call and record down all the donations. Taiwan has more than 125 artists of course and the people are just changing shifts over and over, everyone wants to contribute a bit to this charity. There are some that has been answering call since 730 pm (taiwan time) all the way to 12AM. One of the people that volunteer is The New Taiwan's President and of course the First lady. The first lady stayed throughout the whole session, continuing answering calls for 4 and half hours. Within these 4 and half hours, the charity show receives more than 2.5 Billion Taiwan Dollars (which is more than 10 Million Singapore dollars) that's really something out of a 4 hours show. There were too many donations that they were unable to key in the totall amount by the time the show end (as we were told by the emcees) but I know this event has been a very successful and has managed to raise a lot of money for the people. No matter how much money, we as human being should just help each other.

fredy is not sure how fredy should phrase it but fredy was very very very touched by how the whole lot of the artists work and contribute to this charity. Whoever you can think of who is a Taiwan artist and very popular, you can see him/her on the show, answering calls and take down donations. Every single call is answered by an artist and of course the WHOLE studio is filled with more than 125 artists and alot of them waiting in backstage, hoping to get a chance to help those people in Si Chuan.

fredy is really very touched by all of them. fredy thinks this should be the way "love" should be.

This Si Chuan earthquake is really very sad and heart wrenching. fredy doesn't wish to watch news these few days. really. fredy is not confident of not crying while watching the news but I think it is unavoidable. fredy will still need to know.

fredy is not sure whether anyone heard of this but fredy knows about this through the charity show...

A Mother and a baby child was at home when the earthquake happened. The building they were in collapsed during the earthquake. The mother used her body to cover the little child from being crushed by anything. The child's mother hugged the child with her body, trying to prevent her from getting hurt with all her might. The mother was dead while protecting her child. When the rescue team reached and saved her and her child, everything was too late for the mother but the child was fine. The child was totally fine under her mother's protection. Then when the rescue team brought them out from the debris of the collapsed building, they found a Handphone in the child's pocket. There was a message on the handphone. The rescue team members read the message...

The message: "My dear Daughter, if you are able to live. Mum wants to tell you: Mum loves you."

The message was from the child's mother, the one that protected her from all the injuries, the one that saved her, the one that hugged her tightly giving her all the warmth these few days, the one that still holding on the her till the very end of her life, the one that still holding on to her hand now... the one that will forever love her...

fredy just can't stop myself from crying when I heard about this and of course while typing this, I cried again.

fredy is just can't find a word or anything to say now. I think there will nothing that can describe this kind of emotion, this kind of LOVE. i am just touched. very touched.

There were still alot more touching stories and how these survivors spend theirs many nights under the collapsed buildings and others. There was one video that was shown on TV. The rescue teams alligned all the school bags that they found in the collapsed school. There were hundreds of them. Those were the hundreds of children that were not found yet. Mothers or parents of these children were waiting anxiously, crying at the area or even kneeling down and hugging their child's bags.

All these scenes are so painful to see.

How I wish all of them can survive but I know it is impossible.

There is nothing fredy can do, fredy can't go there and help any of them or even like those artists contribute money and help out. All fredy could do is to donate money myself and ask others to donate. My parents have donated but fredy wants to donate too. I think that's all fredy can do now. Seriously. There is nothing else except to donate money to help these people.
